Port of Esperance - Demolition of Berth 2 Amenities Building RFP

⁠⁠⁠The Southern Ports Authority (SPA) invites Proposals from suitably qualified contractors for the demolition (or deconstruction) of the Port of Esperance Berth 2 Amenities Building on the terms of this Request for Proposal.

The aim is to make way for a redevelopment of the area near Berth 2 for container handling and storage operations.

The building is single storey with a footprint of approximately 385m2. It is brick (~100m3), timber and steel (~100m3) and asbestos (~4m3) construction and may contain residues of lead and nickel dust. Over the last few years, some minor maintenance and repair works have been undertaken to remove or seal the asbestos cement sheeting but the condition of the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) is not in good condition and there is the potential risk of exposure to airborne fibres.

The objectives of the project are to:
1. Deconstruct / demolish, remove and dispose of the building;
2. Do the work safely without any harm to people or the environment; and
3. Complete the work quickly and efficiently.
