Manhole Replacement

⁠⁠⁠There are tentatively 26 numbers of manholes in Appendix A. Each manhole under the category is to be rebuilt as per the assessed condition/detail and information on the attached spreadsheet (Appendix A). Council believes assessed conditional information on the spreadsheet is correct to the time when assessed. The contractor shall confirm the state and method of reconstruction required for each manhole in the category as in the spreadsheet (Appendix A). Council shall not be responsible/ liable for any misinformation on the spreadsheet, Appendix A.

Prices are sought for each manhole under this category. Refer Appendix C, Returnable Schedules.

Drawings/Plans are provided showing the locations of manholes for to be carried out by the Contractor (refer to Appendix B). The manholes at certain locations are not as exactly located as shown in the attached drawing. The contractor’s quoted price shall include all provisions for reconstruction of manholes and bypassing; even if they are not located as shown in the drawings attached.

The Contractor shall complete all sewer manhole reconstruction works in accordance with this Specification, attached manhole details (Appendix A), submitted construction program, Work Health and Safety and any traffic control plan provided for a particular location.
Note 1: Exact quantity (numbers) of deteriorated sewer manholes to be reconstructed will be quantified only after determination of unit price for manhole under the category (Appendix C).
Note 2: The contractor shall guarantee of reconstructed manholes having a life span (economic life) of 50 years or more.
Note 3: Price for supply and installation of each manhole lid (with concrete surround) under reconstruction category shall be included in Appendix C Returnable Schedules. The manhole lids with concrete surround are to be supplied and installed by Contractor as specified by Council. The specification for manhole lids and installation (with concrete surround) is attached in Appendix D.
Note 4: The contractor shall notify Council prior to accessing and assessing any manholes within the Shire for costing or pricing purpose.

This Specification defines the method and material for the reconstruction of existing sewer manholes.

Additionally, the submission of WAE report for all constructed manholes.
