Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠The SH16 Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade project is one of five projects comprising the Waterview Connection project portfolio, which is a Road of National Significance and the final section of the Western Ring Route.

The Contract Works consists of the construction of:
(a) Widening of the existing SH16 motorway from 2 to 3 lanes in each direction over 2.1 km;
(b) Inclusion of bus shoulders on both carriageways;
(c) Replacement of grassed median with concrete barrier and paved median shoulders;
(d) New Shared Use Path, 2.9km long, between Lincoln Road and Westgate, adjacent to the northbound carriageway with connections to Huruhuru Road, Triangle Road and Royal Road;;
(e) Upgrade of Royal Road Interchange with improved existing on and off-ramps;
(f) Replacement of the existing Royal Road Bridge to increase vertical clearance from the SH16 mainline and accommodate an additional eastbound lane, a westbound cycle lane, the North Harbour Water Main, a shared use path on the northern side of the bridge and a footpath on the southern side;
(g) Replacement of the Huruhuru Road Bridge providing better vertical clearance from the SH16 mainline;
(h) Replacement of the Lincoln Bridge No.1 over Huruhuru Creek, as part of improving the northbound Lincoln Road on ramp;
(i) Retaining walls (of varying height) and noise walls;
(j) LED Lighting, with existing edge lighting replaced with median lighting and separate cycleway lighting;

There is one separable portion within the contract to provide additional northbound capacity at Royal Road off ramp prior to the completion of works;

Commencement on site for this project is anticipated to be end July 2016 with final completion to be no later than 138 weeks there after.

Fulton Hogan Ltd is seeking proposals/quotations from subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with the head contract documents for the design and construction of this project.
