The ‘Roads and Maritime Services’ ‘Wharf Maintenance Section’ is responsible for contracting services to maintain Maritime structures in Sydney Harbour and a small number throughout NSW. The ‘essential services maintenance component’ (fire safety) of these work are contracted through a fully inclusive standalone contract. These include; fire pumps, fire alarms, sprinklers, fire hose reels, fire extinguishers, emergency / exit lighting, magna-locks, etc.

The Contractors must be able to demonstrate they have the ability, facilities and equipment to carry out inspections, maintenance of essential services of marine structure to meet the requirements of the Principal and meet Community and stakeholder expectations.

RMS invites contractors to submit tenders (including price and non-price) for the essential services of the Maritime structures for 5 year maintenance contracts that will undergo a review at the end of each year and if the contractors have performed suitably and they should continue for the next year.

As essential services for maritime structures is a specialised area, a ‘two envelope system’ for assessing tenderers ‘price’ and’ non-price’ submissions will be used to enable RMS to select the most suitable contractor with the best price, ability, correct facilities and equipment to undertake the contract works.
