The Australian and Tasmanian Governments are co-investing a total of $119.6 million of Infrastructure Investment funding in the Tasmanian Freight Rail Revitalisation Program that will see priority sections of the Tasmanian Rail Network upgraded over the four years to 30 June 2019.

TasRail is currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified, experienced and competent Contractor to tender prices for the remediation of 15 existing steel-lined culverts by full structural relining, including works to the inlet/outlet and adjacent waterway where required.

Key Points of Tender:
* Design and construct culvert relining in order to structurally and functionally remove any reliance on the existing metal culvert for a service life of 80 years;
* Methods may include but are not limited to: Insitu Reinforced Concrete, Slip Lining with Precast Concrete or Structural Plastic or HDPE or Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP including cured in place);
* Locations: 2X Southern Line, 1X Fingal Line, 1X Western Line & 11X Bell Bay Line;
* No disruption to existing train operations by the works;
* Attendance at compulsory site inspections and subsequent meetings including for TasRail planning, OH&S and others as necessary for the effective execution of the works;
* Compliance with all standards and co-operation with local government;
* Sustainability including origin of supply, support of Tasmanian industry, impact on Tasmanian industry (Buy Local Policy);
* Health, Safety and Environment compliance processes;
* Compliance with the National Code of Practice for the construction industry and the Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme;
* Anticipated contract award mid-January 2016 with works to be completed by June 2016.
