Tender Description

The Project involves the design and construction of an upgrade to the existing The Northern Road between Jamison Road, Penrith and just south of Glenmore Parkway, Glenmore Park.
 
The Project includes:
  • provision for up to four through lanes in each direction on The Northern Road, including two bus lanes, between Jamison Road, Penrith and Glenmore Parkway, Glenmore Park;
  • upgrade of the existing interchange between the M4 Motorway and The Northern Road to provide four through lanes in each direction on The Northern Road. The upgraded interchange will include additional turning lanes for existing movements and will accommodate Smart motorway requirements;
  • provision of shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists; and
  • upgrade of existing intersections along The Northern Road.
This is a Quality Assurance contract. 
 
All proponents must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement. 
 
The Northern Road Upgrade Stage 3 North Project (Project) is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments.  
 
Applications for Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited from contractors who are on the Road and Maritime Services F150 PLUS (Financial), the R5 (Roadworks) and B4 (Bridgeworks) Register of Prequalified Contractors to undertake the design and construction of the Project.
 
 
A shortlist of applicants will be selected and invited to submit tenders for the design and construction of the Project.
 
This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government, the Building Code 2013 (Building Code) applies to this project. This document is available at www.employment.gov.au/Building Code 
 
Applicants must comply with the New South Wales Government's Code of Procurement (NSW Code) and the New South Wales Government's Implementation Guidelines to the New South Wales Code of Practice for Procurement: Building and Construction (NSW Guidelines).
 
The Building Code 2013 (Building Code) and the Building Code 2013 - Supporting Guidelines for Commonwealth Funding Entities (Supporting Guidelines) apply to the Project.
 

It is a requirement of the Project that the successful contractor be accredited under the Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme (Scheme) established by the Fair Work (Building Industry) Act 2012 (FWBI Act) at the time of entering into the contract for the building work as defined under section 5 of the FWBI Act and maintains accreditation under that Scheme while the building work is being carried out.
