Bulk Verge Collection Contractor Assistance (Ad hoc)

⁠⁠⁠Contract Requirements in Brief RFT 22/2015

The City of Cockburn is seeking a suitably experienced and equipped Contractor to support the City's junk and green household bulk verge collection as and when it is required. Services required include the transportation of all materials collected to the nominated waste disposal sites or recycling facilities. No other waste facility is to be used for disposal without the consent of the City. The waste disposal costs will be borne by the City of Cockburn. The requirement for assistance could involve working on Saturday or public holiday as well as the normal working week, but would exclude Good Friday, Christmas and New Year's days.

Each residential area has two (2) green waste and two (2) junk collections annually, whilst the designated rural areas have two (2) combined green/junk waste collections annually. The total quantity of materials collected annually over the 11 areas by the City's in-house service is approximately 2,050 green waste and 2,500 junk tonnes.

The Contractor will need to augment the City's in-house service at short notice whenever additional services are required to meet the Bulk Verge Waste Calendar commitments.

The Contract shall be for a period of three (3) years, with a Principal instigated option to extend for a subsequent one (1) year period and up to an additional twelve (12) months after that, to a maximum of five (5) years in total.
