The Principal offers an independent professional trustee service to the West Australian community. It is a statutory body that operates under the authority of the Parliament of Western Australia.

The Contract Authority employs specialist solicitors, accountants, Estate Managers and Trust Managers to represent the interests of the estates under administration, the beneficiaries of those estates and the financial affairs of those for whom the Principal is appointed as administrator. Individual Estate and Trust Managers issue instructions for a real estate valuation.

The Principal seeks the services of a suitably qualified and experienced land valuer who is licensed under the Land Valuers Licensing Act 1978 of Western Australia to value properties under the control of the Principal in its various capacities (mainly residential) situated in the Perth metropolitan area (defined as within a 65 km radius of the GPO Perth and to include Two Rocks to the north) as well as properties located within the City of Mandurah.
