Expressions of Interest.

This position is based at picturesque Richmond, situated 500km west of Townsville on the banks of the Flinders River. The Shire of Richmond is approximately 26,000 square kilometres in the heart of Queensland. Richmond is a hive of activity during tourist season (April to October), and there are numerous weekend activities from sporting meets to dance balls to dinosaur fossil digs. A large recreational lake is used for water sports while the numerous park areas provide cool grassy spots to rest awhile. The surrounding region has all the beauty and dramatic landscapes of the outback.

Richmond Shire Council is looking for a Swimming Pool Contractor to manage the Richmond Swimming Pool.

The contract position would suit a couple with first aid qualifications and the ability to undertake dangerous goods training (to be provided by Council). Applicants who are prepared to continue offering support to the Richmond Swimming Club and squad training and/or learn to swim classes would be preferred.

This Contract allows the Contractor to earn extra income through their own entrepreneurial activities such as operating the Kiosk or offering Learn to Swim classes. Arrangements to purchase the current stock would be between the proposed contractor and the current contractor. This may require the Contractor to be registered for GST. The Contractor would require their own workers compensation insurance and Council will supply public liability insurance.

Council will offer a retainer based on qualifications and experience and accommodation to the successful applicant/s under a Residential Tenancy Lease arrangement. As this is a contract position the Contractor is responsible for their own taxation.
