Tender Description
The National Archives of Australia is seeking the supply and installation of two (2) film sound reproducers at its Chester Hill site for use in transferring sprocketed magnetic and optical film soundtracks in order to produce digitised copies of its film sound holdings. The Archives requires equipment that can handle a range of deteriorated film to produce a high quality digital surrogate with minimal operator adjustment. The equipment should, as a minimum, meet the following specifications:
* ability to play 16, 17.5 and 35mm gauge synchronous film sound material in various track configurations;
* operation speeds of 24 and 25 frames per second (fps);
* ability to play heavily deformed shrunk magnetic and optical sound formats; and
* must be capable of reproducing the highest possible audio quality which is presented to a professional grade balanced analogue audio output.
The Archives will consider submissions with additional functionality.
