The Council of the City of Sydney (Council) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced and skilled contractors for the carrying out of the Design and Construction of the Green Square Library and Plaza.

The Council is creating an exciting new library and plaza in the heart of Green Square providing essential public space and amenity to new residential, retail and business developments in one of Sydney's most rapidly changing urban villages. The library is a uniquely designed building beneath a plaza and will be the community living room for residents and visitors to the new town centre.

Development Approval was granted in February 2014 and a civil contractor has been engaged for the early works which include library basement shoring, bulk excavation, plaza subgrade compaction and remediation. These works commenced onsite in July 2015 and are anticipated to be completed in early 2016.

The Council is now seeking through this EOI to shortlist two prospective tenderers who are inspired by the chance to shape a new town centre in Sydney and are prepared to collaborate in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process designed to assist both the Council and the eventual D&C Contractor to deliver the Stage 2 Main Works.

EOI's close at 11AM AEST on Tuesday 20 October 2015 and submissions must be fully received by this time. Council is not bound to accept the lowest priced EOI or all or any part of an EOI and reserves the right to conduct the Request for EOI process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit.
