Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Meat and Livestock Australia is calling for expressions of interest from appropriate applicants to conduct a performance review of the company and its programs, over the past five year period, as a requirement of MLA’s statutory reporting obligations to the Australian Government, under its Deed of Agreement.

MLA is a primary producer-owned company providing marketing, research and development marketing, research and development (R&D) services for Australia’s red meat and livestock industries. Its mission is to create opportunities across the cattle, sheep and goat supply chains by optimising the return on the collective investment in marketing and R&D.

In 2014-15 MLA managed an annual expenditure of $179.5m including producer levies and government matched funds.

Under MLA’s Deed of Agreement 2012-2016 with the Commonwealth of Australia. MLA is required to complete a performance review prior to the expiry of the Deed and in anticipation of negotiating a new statutory funding agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia.

Review objectives include:
1. To conduct a review and make an assessment of the performance of Meat and Livestock Australia and Meat and Livestock Australia Donor Company.
2. To make findings, conclusion, and if necessary, recommendations for performance improvement in delivering research, development, extension and marketing services and outcomes.

Candidates need to demonstrate sound economic evaluation credentials, relevant experience in the agricultural sector, an understanding of the RDC environment and comprehensive report writing skills.
