Tender Description
The valve type includes Knife Gate Valve, Check Valve, Butterfly Valve, Ball Valve, Globe Valve and Gate Valve. The sizes are varied from DN20 to DN1200 and the pressure requirement is 1400kPA.
The following features shall be incorporated into the design of the valves and associated accessories:
* Provision shall be made such that all valves except non return valves are lockable in both the fully closed and fully open position.
* Valves shall be capable of being open and shut (to a no-leak state) under all possible operating conditions with a force no greater than 350 Nm at initial opening and a force not greater than 180 Nm to operate.
* Valves shall be closed by rotating the hand wheel or lever in a clockwise direction when viewed from the operating position irrespective of whether the hand wheel is attached to, or remote from the valve. On each hand wheel there shall be clear indication as to the method of operating the valve by the use of arrows and the words indicating “Open” and “Close”, permanently embossed on the hand wheel.
* Valves which are only suitable for unidirectional flow shall have an arrow indicating the direction of flow embossed on each side of the valve.
* When special bolting is required to install the valves, such bolts shall be supplied with the valve.
* Valves in contact with drinking water, recycled water or any combinations of these water supplies shall comply with AS/NZS 3500.1. All valves in contact with drinking water shall comply with AS 4020 and shall be watermark certified.
