Juanita Nielsen Community Centre Public Art Curtain

⁠⁠⁠The City of Sydney invites artists to submit a quotation to design and create an innovative functional, site-specific artwork to be included in the refurbishment of the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre in Woolloomooloo, Sydney. The City of Sydney encourages emerging, mid-career and established artists with experience in community engagement and artists with experience or an interest in textiles to apply.

The artwork opportunity identified within the building refurbishment is for an artwork curtain or textile piece to be integrated into the Community Hall of the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre.

This is a one stage open invitation for artists to submit a quotation for the design and creation of the artwork curtain for the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre. The submission should include a conceptual approach, a methodology, an indication of proposed materials and a confirmation of the timeline and budget for its execution and installation.

Completed responses can be submitted via the electronic tender box (preferred) using the attached returnable forms. Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion. Submissions can also be placed in a sealed envelope and endorsed with the tender title, number, and closing date, and placed in the Quotation Box located Town Hall House, Level 1, 456 Kent Street Sydney 2000 by the nominated time and date.

Quotations close at 11AM AEST on Tuesday 6 October 2015 and submissions must be fully received by this time. Council is not bound to accept the lowest priced Quotation or all or any part of a Quotation and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Quotation process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit.
