Safety Equipment (Eye Wash Units)

⁠⁠⁠Overview:

Set of standalone eye wash stations. Equipment warranty 48 months after delivery. The Eye Wash units shall be supplied in conjunction with ANSI Z358.1

These self-contained, standalone units shall be designed, but not limited to the following criteria, and shall:
* be located in areas where personnel may be exposed to chemical or corrosive materials;
* be readily accessible and immediately available in the event of an emergency;
* be identified with signage;
* provide comprehensive instructions or diagrams of usage;
* take cognisance of solar and ambient temperature effects;
* be constructed of materials that will not corrode in the presence of the flushing fluid/ saline marine environment;
* protect stored flushing fluid and eye wash nozzles from airborne contaminants;
* provide a velocity of flushing fluid that is low enough to be non-injurious to the user and fluid
* be sufficiently dispersed throughout the pattern;
* provide flushing fluid (treated potable fresh water) at a flow rate of 1.5 L/min, for a minimum duration of 15 minutes and at a temperature between 16 degC and 36 degC;
* be fitted with nozzles which aerate the water;
* include a filter strainer to protect personnel’s eyes from foreign matter, and
* activate the water supply to the eyewash by a hand or elbow operated spring loaded quarterturn valve radiations.

Vendor shall include in their design provisions to protect the unit from direct sun exposure and ensure a suitable fluid temperature between 16 and 36 degC in line with Vendor requirements.
