Cuba Street Stormwater and Sewer Renewals

⁠⁠⁠Wellington City Council has identified this stormwater and sewer main for replacement.

The works consists of the renewal of public stormwater and sewer in Cuba Street between Karo Drive/Arthur Street and Abel Smith Street. The stormwater main is a 225mm dia. earthenware pipe to be upsized to a 450mm RCRRJ pipe and the sewer main is a 200mm dia. earthenware pipe to be upsized to a 250OD PE100 pipe.

This contract specifies open-trenching for the stormwater main due to the large increase in pipe size and a pipe-bursting methodology to be used for the sewer main to reduce the disruption in Cuba Street.

Tenders outlining alternative methodologies for replacement will be considered in accordance with clause 105.12 in the Schedule to Conditions of Tendering. Tenderers should clearly state their replacement/ renewal methodology and have a clear revised Schedule of Prices included in their tender submission.
