Holroyd City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (E0I) from appropriately qualified persons to be part of the Holroyd Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel (HIHAP).
Holroyd City Council has recopied to have an Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel on a trial basis as part of its development assessment process, for certain development applications. The functions of the HIHAP are to:
* Consider and make final determinations on all development applications that are referred to it by the General Manager under the HIHAP Charter:
* Provide an independent and open forum for interested persons and the community to make submissions relevant to the applications before the HIHAP:
* Achieve best practice urban design and development outcomes consistent with the relevant legislation and planning controls.
The Panel consists of four rotating members, which are drawn from a pool of technical experts in the fields of planning, traffic and environmental assessment (e.g. acoustic, ecology, etc.): community representatives: and legal experts who will also perform the role of Chairperson.
Council is seeking EOI to appoint members to the Holroyd Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel that will act as determinative authority for assessing certain types of development applications. Council has resolved to form the HIHAP on a trial basis. Council would particularly welcome EOI from individuals who have previous or current experience as members of an IHAP or similar, and who have the appropriate legal or technical expertise identified above, or have lived in the Holroyd Local Government Area with experience in local issues. Refer to HIHAP Charter for more details on the functions and required qualifications of Panel members.
Council's Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel Charter specifies the terms for appointment of the independent members to the Committee.
EOI Applications should be accompanied by a covering letter addressing the selection criteria provided within the HIHAP information package and outlining why you should be considered for appointment. A copy of your CV should also be provided. EOI close at 4pm on Friday, 31 July 2015.
