Tender Description

Queensland Rail is an integrated rail business with more than 140 years of operational experience, serving the freight, tourism and passenger markets. It provides fast, safe and comfortable passenger services in the Brisbane metropolitan area and between key regional centres throughout Queensland.

The Infrastructure Material Logistics (IML) Distribution Centre based at Geebung, QLD is responsible for the control and distribution of the majority of Network Inventory materials for Division maintenance and operations, items including ballast, sleepers, turnout and rail. As Network Access consolidates the management of all inventory management to the IML Centre it is anticipated that the requirement for planned and unplanned transport will increase.

Queensland Rail believes in strategic procurement, meeting its need for works in a way that achieves value-for-money on a whole-of-life-basis, generating benefits for all stakeholders.  Queensland Rail considers the social and economic consequences of its works and its Contractor’s capacity to address these consequences.

This Tender addresses the procurement process for establishing a Transport Service Panel that can meet Queensland Rail’s business requirements for ad hoc transportation tasks throughout Queensland.
