Provision of Animal Impoundment Facility

⁠⁠⁠Written Expressions of Interest are sought from members of the public, organisations or legal entities interested in the provision and management of a Council animal impoundment facility.

Council is exploring the option of engaging a company, organisation or individual for the provision, management and control of a place of reception, maintenance and detention of dogs and cats impounded within the Charters Towers Local Government area.

The provision of service shall include:

* Maintaining a secure kennel complex containing no less than 10 dog kennels and 5 cat houses;
* 24hr access for Council Rangers;
* Daily monitoring and cleansing of facility at all times whilst animals are being held;
* Sustenance of animals;
* Maintaining a register for recording details of animals, and
* Enforcing relevant workplace health and safety provisions and adherence to legislation relating to Animal Welfare.
