Tender Description

The University of Adelaide and the Grains Research & Development Corporation (GRDC) co-invested in the UA barley breeding program from 2003 to June 2013 through Research Agreement UA00032. This joint breeding program has generated a range of Barley Material categorised as Fixed Barley Material and Segregating Barley Material, which have been identified as being co-owned by GRDC and the University only.

The University and GRDC have agreed to license their IPR in these jointly owned barley lines to third parties to:

* Deliver malting and feed barley varieties with superior yield, agronomic and quality profiles, into Australian barley production environments; and
* Enhance the level of competition currently seen in commercial barley breeding in Australia.

The Segregating Barley Material will be licenced non-exclusively for Direct Commercial Use and the Fixed Barley Material and Segregating Barley Material will be licenced non-exclusively for Indirect Commercial Use. The terms Segregating Barley Material, Fixed Barley Material, Direct Commercial Use and Indirect Commercial Use have the meanings defined in the EOI Information Document and the associated Material Transfer Agreement.

All applications are expected to be self-funded and commercially viable.

Performance Data associated with the Barley Material to be licenced will be available for on-line viewing only. It will not be possible to download the Performance Data. To view the Performance Data complete and sign the Request Access to View the Performance Data. The completed form should be scanned and sent electronically to tenders@grdc.com.au with the subject line Barley EOI.

The Performance Data will be available for viewing from Friday 19 June 2015 to midnight Wednesday 8 July 2015. The Material Transfer Agreement to be used will be available online.
