The Department of Education and Training released a tender titled DET 68449 SOA Queensland Government Furniture which closed on 4 June 2015.

In accordance with the Government’s focus on developing business within regional Queensland, we wish to advise that the Department is issuing a revised version of the original tender, titled DET 68449A Queensland Government Furniture to facilitate regional participation. This tender will allow Offerors to respond to supplying furniture to one or more regions throughout the State of Queensland.

As per DET 68449 SOA Queensland Government Furniture, the purpose of this invitation is to establish a Whole of Government (WoG) Standing Offeror Arrangement (SOA) consisting of a panel of suitably qualified Suppliers of supply, delivery and installation of furniture to eligible Queensland Government Customers.

In addition to providing Eligible Customers with a wide range of options and solutions in relation to the furniture purchased for their facilities, the arrangement aims to:

* Provide and promote furniture that meets the relevant AS/NZ standards to ensure a safe and innovative environment;
* Achieve value for money, sustainability and more fluent procurement processes;
* Deliver improved sustainability outcomes; and
* Provide a single whole-of-Government procurement pathway for majority of furniture purchases.

The scope of this arrangement will include office furniture, secure furniture, hospital and health furniture, school furniture and speciality items and exclude stationery and office accessories, lighting, major fit-outs of facilities and electronic goods.

The proposed Standing Offeror Arrangement maintains the Department’s current compliance with Australian and international standards in manufacturing and safety.
