Babinda Reservoir Refurbishment

⁠⁠⁠Council's Water & Waste hereby invites tenders for the refurbishment of the Babinda Reservoir.

The aim of the contract is to refurbish an existing covered reservoir located at Jago Street, Babinda, QLD 4861, approximately 60km South of Cairns. The scope of works is envisaged to include:

* Cleaning and surface preparation;
* Supply and apply coating on internal & external walls, base and roof;
* Replacement of sealant within the floor joint and reinstate defective joint edges;
* Sealing of water egress from tie-bar penetration;
* Provision of replacement of internal ladder;
* Provision of minor pipework refurbishment;
* Provision of joint manufacturer/contractor warranty.

The reservoir is a concrete structure with concrete walls, columns and roof with approximate storage capacity of 4.55ML, depth of 5.7m and diameter of 34m.

CRCW&W operate and maintain the Babinda Reservoir. The structure was constructed and commissioned in September 1991.

Tenders are to be in a sealed envelope and endorsed "Contract No. 75419 – Babinda Reservoir Refurbishment" and shall be addressed to the undersigned and 2 hard copies lodged, posted or delivered by a recognised courier having a direct delivery service to the Council Chambers, 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns, so as to be received in the Tender Box before the closing time of 4:30pm on Tuesday 26 May 2015. Tenders will not be opened publicly.

The lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted.
