Kawana STP K150 Upgrade Market Sounding Exercise

⁠⁠⁠Unitywater is in the process of facilitating an upgrade to the Kawana Sewage Treatment Plant.

A ‘market sounding’ period will be held during which proponents who wish to discuss the Kawana K150 Upgrade Project may be provided the opportunity of a confidential face-to-face discussion with one or more of the Unitywater team who have been working on this project to date.

Unitywater is eager to encourage and facilitate innovation into the project and not constrain opportunities or market driven outcomes.  Innovative solutions must always meet Unitywater’s objectives.

The objective of any discussion will be for Unitywater to:

* Understand the business drivers needed for establishing specific energy efficient treatment processes, onsite power generation, and/or energy export facilities;
* Review the benefits and risks (taking into account external market conditions) of the various process options;
* Qualify the interrelationships and dependencies between different technologies;
* Determine feasibility of implementing various process configurations at Kawana STP, and how this may relate to the long term growth projections for Kawana STP.
