Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) - Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol (QBFP) invites Offers from suitably qualified contractors to minimise the threat of shark attacks on humans in particular locations along the Queensland coastline. Combinations of baited drum lines and nets are currently used to carry out shark control services of off the Queensland coast in the waters around Mackay.

The management of the Shark Control Program is a very important function of QBFP. It provides a safer swimming environment for residents and tourists at popular Queensland’s beaches and has been a public initiative of Government in Queensland since 1962.

To achieve and meet the requirements for the successful completion of servicing, the Contractor is to be competent, experienced and reliable. The return distance to service all equipment is approximately 20 nautical miles and the main components include:

* Complete servicing of baited drum lines and nets
* Safe and efficient Maintenance of equipment i.e.: cleaning, repairing, stocktake
* Land based surveillance
* Reporting

Only one contract for the complete scope of services will result from this Invitation to Offer process. The term of the Contract is an initial period of two years with four discretionary 2 year extension options that will be subject to ongoing demand and contract performance.

Sub-contracting will not be accepted.
