Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to decommission and remove underground fuel storage tanks and associated pipework, fittings and bowsers from Wyong Shire Council’s Charmhaven and Long Jetty Depots. Works also involve carrying out any site remediation and restoration in accordance with the Technical Specification, Remediation Action Plans, and all relevant industry Standards and Guidelines, including but not limited to those listed under Clause 2.1 of the Technical Specification. The work at each Depot shall be carried out concurrently as separable portions under this contract, and both portions are to be completed within 12 weeks of award of Contract.
Three (3) underground fuel storage tanks (UST's) at Charmhaven Depot (27,400L diesel; 16,450L diesel and 16,450L ULP), and two (2) UST's from Long Jetty Depot (21,000L diesel and 9,300L ULP) and all associated UPSS fittings and fixtures are to be removed. Eash site is to be remediated to acceptable standards and restored. Contaminated soil and groundwater has been identified at the Charmhaven Depot site, and is believed to be due to a leak in one of the fuel tanks and/or pipeline.
