Potential Business Opportunity for Private Sector Involvement in Corrective Services Industries
Tender ID: 223925
Tender Details
Tender Description
Business opportunity submissions are invited from individuals, organisations or companies for involvement with Corrective Services Industries (CSI) at correctional centres in New South Wales.
Correctional industry programs play an important role in contemporary correctional management by providing inmates with the opportunity to work and enhance their skills in preparation for post-release employment and successful reintegration into the community.
Industry benefits from access to an increasing range of manufacturing and other service capabilities provided by inmates. By linking with correctional centres, a business can contribute to the design and delivery of programs for improving the education and vocational training of offenders. They also have access to a pool of job ready workers upon post release.
Interested businesses need to submit a proposal that outlines the potential involvement of inmate labour and sustainable solutions to enhance and compliment the needs of local industry.
CSI currently operates a number of industries throughout NSW, some of these include: Long Bay (in Malabar), Cessnock, Mid North Coast (West Kempsey), South Coast (Nowra Hill) and Wellington. Please refer to
for more information.
Further information, including an information kit, can be obtained by contacting Suzanne Portefaix on 02 4582 2403. The closing date for submissions is 29 April 2015.
