Lachlan River Pumping Station

⁠⁠⁠Council (the Principal) is seeking Tenders from appropriately qualified and experienced Tenderers for the supply of materials and equipment, construction, installation of equipment, testing, pre-commissioning, the supply of operation & maintenance manuals and training of the Principal's staff in the operation of the equipment supplied & installed under the Contract associated with the construction of the Lachlan River Pumping Station (LRPS) and the river intake structure.

Parkes is situated in the central west of New South Wales about 300 km from Sydney. Parkes Shire Council (PSC) owns and operates the Parkes/Peak Hill water supply system which supplies drinking water to the towns of Parkes and Peak Hill and the village of Cookamidgera. Peak Hill is situated about 54 km north of Parkes. In addition, Parkes Shire Council supplies raw water to North Parkes mine via a dedicated system.

Council proposes to upgrade the existing river water intake as it was constructed as a temporary arrangement during the last drought and now has several operational & maintenance issues - the current arrangement represents infrastructure and environmental risks.
This Tender is for the supply of materials and equipment, construction, installation of equipment, testing, pre-commissioning and training for the construction of the Lachlan River Pumping Station (LRPS) and the river intake structure.

The upgrade comprises of the construction of a new pumping station at the existing LRPS site. Connection to the existing flow meter pit and to existing electrical cabinet is part of this contract. The new LRPS is designed to supply 87L/s. Some of the components are sized for Stage 2 flows of 245L/s.

Equipment and materials required for the construction will be supplied as part of the Contract. The scope of works includes the supply of operation and maintenance manuals and training of the Principal's staff in the operation of the equipment supplied and installed under the Contract.

Decommissioning of the existing facilities is not included in this Tender.
Respondents are required to attend a Tender briefing / site inspection.
