⁠⁠⁠The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) is the State’s lead agency in attracting private investment in resources exploration and development through the provision of geoscientific information on minerals and energy resources. Achievement of this role is, to a large extent, facilitated online via the DMP’s website.

The DMP is in the process of redeveloping its website to improve its ease-of-use and effectiveness and requires an effective search solution capable of indexing and surfacing results from its online content (a newly developed public-facing website and other online systems).
