Cessnock Zone Substation Construction Works

⁠⁠⁠Ausgrid requires the contracted services of a company capable of providing civil and building services for the construction of the new Cessnock 33/11 kV zone substation.

The successful company is required to provide holistic services including but not limited to, site preparation, drainage, footings, pavement and ground finishes, documentation, control building, services, fencing, landscaping and revegetation while in control of all aspects of the works engaged as the Principal Contractor.

Cessnock 33/11 kV zone substation was commissioned in 1963. Supply to Cessnock Zone Substation is currently supplied by a meshed 33 kV network from Kurri sub-transmission substation. The area is subject to load growth due to residential and commercial developments and its proximity to the Hunter Valley region. Cessnock Zone substation 33 kV busbar also supplies the downstream loads of Paxton Zone substation and Austar Colliery (major customer).

All enquiries relating to this Request for Tenders are to be communicated to Ausgrid via the online TenderLink forum. Ausgrid will respond to all enquiries communicated via the online TenderLink forum by publishing a response on the same online TenderLink forum.

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held on site at Cnr. Darwin St and South Ave, Cessnock NSW, at 11 am, Thursday 26 March 2015. All prospective respondents must attend this meeting.

A maximum of two representatives from each company can be accommodated and prospective respondents must register their intention to attend the pre-tender meeting by telephoning Ms Julie Murphy on (02) 4399-8177 by 4 pm no later than one working day before the meeting.

Tenderers are invited to arrange supplementary site inspections after the tender meeting by making arrangements through TenderLink.

All personnel attending the site must as a minimum be wearing long sleeves, long pants, safety footwear, a high visibility vest, safety eyewear, a safety helmet and must have gloves on their person.
