The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals for QMHC ITO 07/15 - Provision of Consultancy Services to design a strengths based, community model for suicide prevention in accordance to the priorities and principles of the Queensland Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Strategic Plan 2014-2019.
A key activity of the Queensland Government’s renewed approach to suicide prevention includes planning and scoping the feasibility of, and processes required, to undertake a whole of region, place based intervention which:
* Utilises a process of integrated planning, and takes into consideration existing community infrastructure;
* Includes all sectors and stakeholders such as health, housing, employment, education, justice and police, and establishes their respective roles and accountabilities;
* Involves multifaceted and multilevel elements at the community, service system and individual levels;
* Is cost effective and includes agreed outcomes, reporting and evaluation.
This project aims to develop a model which utilises existing community infrastructure and strengths whilst at the same time building capacity for community level suicide prevention activities that are responsive to local requirements.
