HVAC for DSS 36 Antenna
Tender ID: 219807
Tender Details
Tender Description
There are two (2) options that can meet the HVAC requirement:
a. Option 1 – supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an antenna HVAC and transmitter cooling system incorporating in-slab “Nightsky” system and associated electrical work
b. Option 2 - supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an antenna HVAC and transmitter cooling system incorporating an adiabatic cooling system and associated electrical work.
The preferred option will be determined during the evaluation process and prior to entering into Contract.
The work will comprise two interconnected cooling systems. The first is a chilled water system primarily required to cool the internal spaces containing various equipment heat loads and to act as back-up cooling source for the second heat rejection system.
The heat rejection system serves to cool the bulk of the transmitter system heat load using either an in- slab “Nightsky” cooling grid (Option 1) or an adiabatic fluid cooler (Option 2), which are to be priced as two separable portions, for the principal (CSIRO) to subsequently decide on.
A chilled water heat exchanger (HEX) will be connected into the second system to back up the “Nightsky” grid (Option 1). The new mechanical systems will be controlled and monitored by a new building management system (BMS), connected to the existing site wide BMS. This plant will be located externally under a shelter on the apron slab around the dish. A services tunnel links the plant to the pedestal (the area below the satellite dish). Duty/standby air handling units serve the pedestal enclosure to remove heatloads from server racks and HV switchgear.
