Retro Fitting Tactile to Bus Stop/Shelters

⁠⁠⁠Fairfield City Council (Principal) is seeking quotations from appropriately qualified and experienced respondents for the procurement to supply and installation of tactile indicators for approximately 91 bus stops though out Fairfield City.

There is a legal requirement for Councils to ensure that bus stops are accessible and complying with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, by 2022. This report sets out the requirements and the proposed program for the Fairfield Council LGA in achieving compliance for existing bus stops

The contract work shall be in accordance with the construction plans and relevant specification including, but not limited to:

Prior to commencing work onsite the site supervisor must conduct daily risk assessment and site induction.
All traffic management shall be in place before any equipment is set up and it just be approved by the site supervisor.
Supply and installation of yellow polyurethane tactile indicators.
The tactile indicators shall conform Australian Standard AS1428.4.
The length of the tactile leg shall be between 20mm and 30mm.
The warning tactile and directional tactile shall be pre-drilled with a template of 8mm holes for the tactile legs also spacing dimensions.
