Birtinya On-Street Parking Management System

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited for equipment suppliers to submit offers to design, supply, install and commission, and manage on an ongoing basis, on-street 'smart' parking meters and all associated systems, to regulate 127 parking bays in the vicinity of the Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital.

Conditions of development consent require that the developer/contractor install smart parking meters to be dedicated to Sunshine Coast Council (Council). The contract resulting from this Tender will be novated to Council. Scalability is an important consideration in the selection of equipment and associated systems.

The Sunshine Coast Sustainable Transport Strategy 2011-2031 recognises the role of parking management in achieving sustainable transport. Metered parking is likely to be implemented in other locations throughout the region in the future, and it is desirable to minimise the number of systems in use.

It is envisaged that the installation and commissioning will be completed in the first half of 2015.
