Belt Cleaning System

⁠⁠⁠This Invitation for EOI seeks submissions from the interested parties to supply services for Abbot Point Coal Terminal 0 Project to POSCO E&C.

This package includes the scope as described below: [Belt Cleaning System]

The new conveyors use 2,200mm wide belting for the in-loading conveyors rated at 9,000tph, 2,400mm wide belting for the out-loading conveyors rated at 10,000tph and 3200mm for the belt feeders rated at 5,500tph.

Conveyor belt cleaning systems shall be installed to achieve as clean a return belt as practically possible.

Each conveyor shall have a belt cleaning system at the head-end incorporating multiple belt scrapers plus vee ploughs and hooded vee ploughs at tail and take up pulleys.

Each conveyors shall have minimum a primary scraper and 2 secondary scrapers with a water spray bar located between the secondary scrapers. Offshore conveyors shall have as second spray bar and tertiary scraper to further minimise and spill.

Scrapers suppliers shall be selected on the basis of proven performance in similar applications and robustness.

Scrapers shall be applied using springs(rubber or steel), counterweights or other approved means.

Scrapers shall be proprietary items.

A hooded vee plough shall be provided before every pulley in a dirty reeving configuration to protect pulleys. The hooded vee plough shall include polyethylene blades resting on the belt.

A vee plough shall be provided before the hooded vee plough at tail ends and in other areas where spill form loading points or large amounts of water may be approaching the tail pulley or a tail drive area in particular on long, uncovered conveyors.
