CrimTrac is seeking responses to this RFT for the provision of a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) product and related support services (for the purposes of this RFT collectively referred to as the ‘Services’) that will enable CrimTrac to provide a National DNA Investigative Capability (NDIC) to Australian police agencies and non-police government agencies, governance bodies and relevant service providers (i.e. approved accredited laboratories and forensic scientists) for law enforcement purposes.

The aim of the NDIC Project is to implement a Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid (DNA) investigative capability platform, which will enable CrimTrac’s law enforcement partners to better utilise DNA technology within their state or territory legislation and policies. NDIC will provide Services for person identification needs through the introduction of kinship matching and familial searching capabilities with a direct matching function. The new capabilities will better support, extend and improve the technology surrounding DNA matching capabilities across Australia.
