Wellington Water Ltd (formerly known as Capacity)
Wellington City Council has identified three water mains for replacement in: Maurice Terrace, Hawker Street and McIntyres Avenue.
The works consists of the renewal of public water mains and associated connections for three separate sections, one in public road carriageway, one in private road carriageway, and the other in private property. The water mains vary in size from 63mmOD rider mains to 200mm ductile iron pipes.
This contract specifies an open trenching methodology for Maurice Terrace and Hawker Street, and slip lining methodology for McIntyres Avenue. Slip lining has been selected as the suggested methodology for McIntyres Avenue to minimise the effect on nearby aging retaining structures.
Tenders outlining alternative methodologies for replacement will be considered in accordance with clause 105.12 in the Schedule to Conditions of Tendering. Tenderers should clearly state their replacement/renewal methodology and have a clear revised Schedule of Prices included in their tender submission.
