Tender Description
The scope of the project is to undertake a refurbishment of the Defence Fuel Installation (DFI) located at RAAF Base Learmonth. The design and construct scope includes, but is not limited to:
• Demolition of four above ground tanks;
• New bunding;
• Replacement of valves, controls, motors, coalescers, dump tanks and electrical infrastructure;
• New fire system;
• Security improvements;
• New toilet and store; and
• New oily water separator and evaporation pond.
The RAAF Base Learmonth Defence Fuel Installation was constructed 40 years ago.
The installation is split into areas includes two areas; tanks 1-4 (4 x horizontal above-ground 160kL tanks) and tanks 5-14 (10 x 150kL buried tanks).
The Project will undertake a major refurbishment of the facility and will:
• Demolish four 160kl above ground tanks including associated infrastructure;
• Remediate 10 150kl buried above ground tanks. The remediation will include;
• Construction of new bunding and new vehicle ramp;
• Construction of new walkway;
• Replacement of valves;
• Construction of new underground drainage system;
• Construction of new evaporation pond;
• Replacement of electrical system;
• Installation of new control system and level indicators;
• Construction of a new fire system; and
• Construction of a new toilet and store building.
