Economic Evaluation of Sport and Recreation in Western Australia

The aims of this project are to:

* Articulate the reach that sport and recreation has into the economy and the community in Western Australia.

* Using recognised methodologies and reliable data sources, discuss and calculate a value of the economic activities and social benefits that can be:

1 Directly attributed to the sport and recreation sector; and
2 Reasonably attributed to, or associated with, sport and recreation.

* Produce a report that will be used by DSR and other government agencies to inform future business cases and enable sound investment decisions in the WA sport and recreation sector.

* Build an engaging and persuasive case to key stakeholders to encourage investment and participation in the sector.
