Tender Details
Tender Description
The ‘Roads and Maritime Services’ ‘Wharf Maintenance Section’ is responsible for maintaining over 100 Maritime structures in Sydney Harbour and a small number throughout NSW. From time to time, it is also responsible for attending to emergencies for other facilities on its land that are under short to long term leases (up to 99 years).
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) is responsible for maintaining the maritime structures at Darling Harbour, Pyrmont and other smaller selected water front areas on Sydney Harbour.
The first objective of this project is to establish a pre-qualified tender panel of contractors that are suitable to undertake the inspection and maintenance of these structures. Contractors must be able to demonstrate they have the ability, facilities and equipment to carry out inspections, maintenance and construction of marine structure to meet the requirements of the Principal and meet Community and stakeholder expectations.
When the tender panel has been established, RMS and SHFA will invite the pre-qualified contractors to submit tenders for the maintenance of the Maritime structures for 5 year maintenance contracts that will undergo a review at the end of three years to assess if the contractors have performed suitably and they should continue for the remaining two years.
The pre-qualification of contractors is designed to encourage contractors to commit to long-term continuous improvement and to achieve outstanding performance on services provided.
