All Proponents must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.
Roads and Maritime Services is seeking submissions in response to its Invitation for Request for Proposals for the NSW Secure Taxi Ranks Program.
The Government Secure Taxi Rank Program has been established to provide a safe environment for taxi passengers and taxi drivers. A secure rank is staffed by licensed security guards principally on weekends and during holiday times.
Additional hours of operation are requested at peak periods such as Christmas, New Year and some public holidays.
Currently, there are 47 secure taxi ranks in NSW, 44 of these are staffed by security guards and the three have a camera CCTV system in place.
There are 17 secure taxi ranks in Sydney and 27 in country NSW that are staffed with security guards. A complete list of secure taxi ranks, their locations and operating hours is at http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/content/secure-taxi-ranks
The Service Providers must be on State Contract panel under the Whole of Government Security Contract 2682 and are required to deliver static guard security services at 44 secure taxi ranks in NSW.
