TasRail is seeking requests for tender from scrap metal companies who can provide a competitive price per tonne for scrap metal.

Included will be a requirement on request to supply scrap bins of various sizes and the collection of full bins at various sites throughout the TasRail network.

Typical scrap metal will include:
Rail sections up to 12m in length
Rail sections 12m to 14m
Steel Sleepers
Metal connection plates (Fish Plates)
Metal Pins, Spikes & Screws, nuts bolts and spring clips
Locomotive and Wagon wheels
Locomotive and Wagon bogies
Locomotive and Wagon Axles
General scrap metal

A two year +3 additional 1 year options will be offered as a contract.
