Tender Description
The works under this contract comprises the selection of the type of seal, all site planning and preparation works supply of all materials, plant and labour necessary for the road sealing works. The scope of work shall include, but not to be limited to, the following:
a. Selection and approval of sealing type
b. Site planning and preparation, establishment, traffic control, sediment controls
c. Sweeping and cleaning of all surfaces prior to sealing, including disposal of spoil.
d. The supply, preparation and application of all materials in accordance with the technical requirements for each type of seal.
e. The rolling of all areas included in the works after each application of aggregate.
f. Following the sealing works, sweeping and removal of any excess material from the surface, including disposal.
The Contractor will be issued a list of roads and or road sections to be surfaced. The Contractor and Superintendent’s Representative will measure and confirm the area of each road or road section to be sealed, the type of seal and the Schedule of Rates items to be used prior to commencing work.
All tendered rates shall be exclusive of GST.
Council reserves the right to award the contract to one (1) tenderer or several tenderers
The term of the contract will be for three (3) years with possibly two 12 month extensions, subject to satisfactory performance and/or compliance with the conditions of contract.
