In collaboration with UTS, UTas and the Cawthron Institute in NZ, we aim to establish an Australian Research Facility for Marine Microbial Biotoxins at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science.
To perform targeted and untargeted research of microbial toxins at ultra-trace quantities against complex sample background we seek UHPLC LC-MS equipment for the dual purpose of (1) accurate quantification of known toxins and marine natural products, and (2) qualitative discovery-oriented projects, including untargeted metabolomic profiling of marine samples. Specialists in diverse areas of marine ecology and chemistry from the three partner universities will team up to focus on novel biotoxins and marine natural products.
