Tender Description
The Melbourne City Marina, constructed in, or around, 2005, is a floating concrete pontoon marina comprising of an Eastern Marina Arm, with berthing facilities for 14 vessels up to 18 metres in length, and a Central two-arm commercial berthing and mooring facility for vessels up to 50 metres in length, and a Western Marina Arm with berthing facilities for up to 12 vessels up to 20 metres in length.
The Eastern and Western Marina Arms of the marina are exhibiting significant deterioration. The Melbourne City Council wishes to repair and refurbish the two arms of marina, in order to reinstate the marina pontoon system to an “as-built” condition.
The Works comprise:
Option 1:
* Replace all existing brackets in Eastern and Western walkways with new Grade 350 structural steel brackets;
* Install new HDPE cover plates;
* Install new HDPE wear blocks;
* Install new HDPE pile sleeves;
* Repair spalled concrete and replace gangway connection on the Commercial Walkway;
* Replace existing timber Walers with Stress Grade F22 Hardwood Timber Walers;
* Replace defective Ferrule; and
* Replace existing fenders with Extruded Rubber fenders.
Option 2
* Replace existing Western and Eastern Walkway Berths with new pontoons (excluding existing piles)
Tenderers may choose to submit a tender for either Option A, or Option B, or for both Options. The decision as to which Option will be selected will be based on the pricing offered by various tenderers and the detail of their non-financial proposals, and shall accord with the Conditions of Tendering.
