Tender Description

TasPorts requires the Service Provider to provide the Services at its Ports during Operational Hours. The objective of the Services will be to ensure the maximum level of safety and security for the Port, Port property, moored vessels and persons visiting or working at the Ports.

The Service Provider must provide security for the Port as directed by Port Security Management and applicable Standards which shall include, but is not limited to:

  • Static guard and patrol duties;
  • Managing access control/MSIC compliance when posted in relevant positions;
  • Ensuring that the integrity of port security zones is maintained;
  • Monitoring and responding to alarms or security incidents;
  • Screening and clearing persons boarding cruise ships;
  • Screening of passengers and luggage using TasPorts screening equipment;
  • Screening of vehicles entering or exiting a Port secured zone;
  • Managing crowds and queues associated with ship boarding processes;
  • Managing event crowds and access at the Ports, as requested by TasPorts;
  • Managing disputes with or amongst members of the public;
  • Responding to alarms;
  • Providing assistance to Authorities that require access to secure port zones;
  • Representing security interests in meetings as directed; and
  • Completion of reporting requirements under this Contract.

Industry briefing will be conducted in accordance with the schedule below.

Proposers should not rely on a statement made at an industry briefing as amending or adding to this RFP unless that amendment or addition is confirmed by TasPorts in writing.

Proposers wishing to attend Industry Briefings must register and submit the completed Confidentiality Agreement at Schedule 7 to procurement@tasports.com.au along with the name of the attendees by 16/04/2024, 5:00 PM Tasmanian time. TasPorts sites are subject to security controls. All visitors are requested to wear full pants, full sleeves upper and closed shoes (steel capped boots preferred).

Tender Briefing session will be held on 19/04/2024 in Hobart. Schedules to be provided to all visitors upon them registering via email.

The Pre-Tender briefing session is compulsory.
