North East Water is seeking a suitably qualified construction contractor to undertake remediation works to a series of Clear Water Storages to ensure these assets can supply quality drinking water to its customers for many years to come.

The associated remediation works are to be based on a set of supplied inspection reports, specifications and detailed designs, that have been completed prior to aid the delivery of this project.

The Clear Water Storages required to be remediated over multiple financial years as part of this project are;

• Beechworth No.1, approx. 1.0 ML Concrete Tank
• Bellbridge High Level No.1, approx. 0.1ML Concrete Tank
• Bellbridge High Level No.2, approx. 0.1ML Concrete Tank
• Bakers Gully, 2.0 ML Steel Tank
• Corryong Playles Hill No.1, approx. 0.23 ML Concrete Tank
• Corryong Playles Hill No.2, approx. 0.57 ML Concrete Tank
• Glenrowan No.2, 0.12 ML Concrete Tank
• Mt Beauty No.1 Basin, 0.9 ML Concrete Basin
• Rutherglen, 6.0 ML Steel Tank
• Wahgunyah, 0.7 ML Concrete Tank
• Millard Street, 1.2 ML Concrete Tank
• Phillipson Street No.1, 10.0 ML Concrete Tank
• Phillipson Street No.2, 10.0 ML Concrete Tank
• Yarrawonga, 5.0 ML Steel Tank
• Yarrawonga Benalla Rd, 2.0 ML Steel Tank

North East Water requires a Principal Contractor that must have a supplier management system that is fully certified by a certifying body against one of the standards / assurance systems listed by both the Department of Treasury (DTF) & Finance and Worksafe.

For Tenders under $500k The tenderer must be able to demonstrate compliance with the DTF’s 12-point evaluation criteria. A detailed guide on the mandatory OHS management criteria is available on the DTF’s Practitioners Toolkit – Document library page

Tenderers must have one of the following approved OHS assurance systems that is independently certified/audited for currency, to be considered eligible to participate in this tender:

(a) ‘Safety Map’;

(b) Civil Contractors Federation Management Code;

(c) Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme; and

(d) ISO 45001 2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

North East Water encourages Contractors to undertake the DTF’s prequalification process to enable registration for construction and/or construction related services on the Construction Contractors Register. The Victorian Government and Public bodies such as North East Water may use the Construction Contractors Register to create shortlists of Contractors to invite to submit tenders for Public Construction and Construction Related Services.
