Scenic Rim Regional Council (“Council” or “Principal”) is seeking Tenders in response to this Request for Tender (“RFT”). The Tenders sought are for the replacement of an existing timber bridge on Kengoon Road "Kengoon Bridge" to a modern concrete bridge as well as upgrading the bridge approaches.

Works for these bridges have been approved for funding under the Bridges Renewal Programme Round Five (BRP5) by the Australian Government jointly funded with Scenic Rim Regional Council.

Key constrains for this project include a high level of standing water within the creek and a lack of competent rock for piling which has required a long friction pile design. There are irrigation pumps and pickups on either side of the existing bridge. This irrigations infrastructure must remain in place and operational for the duration of the works. Sediment erosion control must be to a high standard to limit the impact to these systems.

Although the road can be closed during construction, public safety and travel impacts are key risks to be managed during construction. In addition, some existing Council bridges have weight restrictions, which will limit route selection and/or plant size.
